Society of Sin Prepares to Keep Comic Con Crowd Entertained for Wizard World 2017
NEW ORLEANS, January 4, 2017 – New Orleans premiere nerdlesque troupe, The Society of Sin, will be busy once again during Wizard World Comic Con New Orleans, manning a booth at the convention by day and providing quality pop culture-themed entertainment all over the city by night Friday, January 6 through Sunday, January 8, 2017.
All weekend long, you can visit members of The Society of Sin at Booth # during convention hours, where they will be showing off their latest cosplays, taking photos with fans, selling exclusive prints and calendars, and providing information about their upcoming shows. You also have an opportunity to see them doing what they do best—nerdlesque—at three unique shows this weekend.
Friday night, the burlesque troupe will be debuting "The Crystal Cabaret," their new Sailor Moon-themed burlesque and variety show, starring local drag star Eureeka Starfish of Harajuku NOLA and The Marvelous Show as everyone's favorite meatball-headed magical girl, Sailor Moon! The show will run for one night only at The Willow with two chances to catch the production at 8pm and midnight. Doors open an hour before showtime, and as with all of The Society of Sin's shows, attendees who want to guarantee that they get a good seat should arrive early. VIP tickets are for going for $20 online, while General Admission is $10 at sailormoonburlesque.eventbrite.com, but tickets will also be available at the door. "The Crystal Cabaret" will feature performances from Cherry Bombshell, Xena Zeit-Geist, May Hemmer, Lune Noirr, Anjle, Candy Snatch and more.
Saturday night, Wizard World attendees can enjoy $2 off admission to The Society of Sin's weekly nerdlesque revue, "Talk Nerdy To Me." The show takes place every Saturday at The Dragon's Den with doors at 7p and the show beginning at 7:30p. Tickets are $10 cash at the door. "Talk Nerdy To Me" features a rotating cast of talent showing off their favorite pop culture-themed burlesque and variety acts and is different every week.
Finally, Sunday evening the troupe will close out Wizard World Comic Con New Orleans 2017 with an extravagant burlesque revue at The Theater at Harrah's Casino, just down the street from the Convention Center. "NERDLESQUE!" is an exclusive showcase of the best nerdy burlesque acts in New Orleans, from Chére Noble's sultry striptease as Daenerys Targareyn of Game of Thrones to Cherry Bombshell's gender-bending tribute to The BBC's Doctor Who to Xena Zeit-Geist's heartfelt burlesque tribute to Princess Leia, created in memory of Carrie Fisher. The show will run for one night only with showtimes at 6p (5p door) and 10p (9p door), with tickets available at the door or online at nerdlesqueshow.eventbrite.com.
