The Society of Sin gets galactic with multidimensional tribute to Rick and Morty
NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 19, 2018 – The newest revue presented by New Orleans-based burlesque and variety troupe The Society of Sin is sure to have audiences screaming, “Show me what you got!”
Based on the wildly popular Adult Swim animated series, “Riggity Riggity Wreckedlesque: A Burlesque Ode to Rick and Morty” will run for one night only on Friday, Nov. 23, at The Willow (8200 Willow St.). The event will offer two showings—one at 8 p.m. (doors at 7 p.m.) and the other at 11 p.m. (doors at 10:30 p.m.).
“Rick and Morty has been the burlesque parody that our fans have most requested over the past couple of years, and I’m excited to see the creativity that the performers are going to bring to this crazy show,” said Xena Zeit-Geist, the troupe’s founder and artistic director.
Served with a side of Szechuan sauce, the revue will present performances inspired by the darkly comedic sci-fi show, which centers on the adventures of mad scientist Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty, as they traverse the galaxy’s infinite number of dangerous dimensions.
Hosted by Clay Mazing, the show will feature acts by Remy Dee, Cherry Brown, Dawn DrapeHer, Dick Jones, Xena Zeit-Geist, Phoenix Rose, Megan Watts, Diana Dietrich and Atomyc Adonis.
General admission tickets are currently on sale for $10 in advance or $15 at the door. VIP tickets are also available for $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
